Two KU faculty members coming to SU for one year

Two Kenyatta University faculty members, who are also doctoral students at KU, will be coming to Syracuse University for one year beginning mid August 2011. Michael Muchoki Waititu and Bernard Chomba Mugo have been admitted to the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) program at SU and will complete what USAID calls a “sandwich degree” during their time at SU. Waititu (in physics education) and Mugo (in special education) will take courses, participate in seminars, and be involved in research projects during their year at SU.

The first International Conference on Education (ICE) co-sponsored by Kenyatta University and Syracuse University was held on the campus of Kenyatta University, in Nairobi, Kenya, July 8-10, 2009. The second ICE is scheduled for July 20-22, 2011 at Kenyatta University.

Paperwork has been signed!

We received word on Friday, April 8th that the paperwork finalizing the funding for the Kenyatta University-Syracuse University teacher education partnership through the Africa – U.S. Higher Education Initiative was signed in Washington, D.C.  The papers should be signed this week at Syracuse University and then we will begin our project work.  Finally!
