Professional Development Workshop on Inclusive Education

During the afternoons of July 8-9, 2013, Brent Elder and Michelle Damiani, doctoral students in Special Education at Syracuse University, led a workshop on inclusive education for faculty members in the Department of Educational Communication and Technology at Kenyatta University. Participants learned about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Multiple Intelligences Theory. Brent and Michelle introduced participants to a number of strategies and participants planned on how to implement these strategies and apply UDL principles in their teaching, and preparing teachers to use these strategies and principles.

About Joanna Masingila

Joanna Masingila is Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education at Syracuse University. She was a Fulbright Scholar to Kenyatta University in 1998, and since that time Syracuse University and Kenyatta University have an institutional linkage.
