More Work with Students with Visual Impairments and iOS Equipment

On Saturday, June 29th we worked with four Kenyatta University students with visual impairments who were using iPods we had brought in June 2012. This time we brought iPad minis to exchange with them. The women were very happy to now have 3G devices that they can use to access the Internet anywhere there is mobile network.

What were their experiences with iPods?

    • They used iPods with keyboards to read and create documents, read and send email, read information from the Internet, etc. The limitation of the iPod is that it uses wifi; it does not have the capacity to use a mobile network. The iPad minis do have that capacity.

As one of the teachers of Kibos special school, we were delighted for your kind donation and concern towards these learners with VI. We believe, God willing, you will do even more to support the education of these learners. Kindly link us more with other institution of similar interests so that they can also participate in these exchange programs. Personally, I am trained in handling these learners but believe I still need further training going by the current trends and development in technology. Thanks and may God bless you abundantly.
