Visits to Secondary and Primary Schools

SU team members Marcelle Haddix (English teacher educator) and Jeff Mangram (social studies teacher educator) visited several schools during their first trip to Kenya through the Kenyatta University-Syracuse University partnership. They visited Ugweri Secondary School (a mixed day school in a rural area), Nairobi School (a national boys boarding school in an urban area), and Kenyatta University Primary School (a mixed day school in an urban area). Joanna Masingila was part of the visits to Ugweri Secondary School and Nairobi School, and Peter Rugano (SU doctoral student) participated in the visit to Ugweri Secondary School. At each of the schools they interacted with the students, and at two of the schools they observed lessons. These photos show some of the activities of those visits.
